My Best Friend's Girl

Author: Dorothy Koomson

Every time I finish reading a book, I always say, "this is the best I've read so far"....and you know what?! It is the best I've read so far. It's all the goodness I love in a book all rolled up into one. I swear when you read this, make sure you have a box of kleenex with you. I can't believe how much a book can do that. You really feel the emotions of the characters and I can never understand why anyone would want to read a book more than once. THIS is one book I would read again and add in my bookshelf.

I love, love the happy ending. Kamryn made the right decision. A girl after my own heart.

I can't wait for you to read this one and get back to me so we can talk about it. Hurry!

Searching for Spice

Author: Megan DiMaria
I'm still applauding at this one! I loved it so much, I gave a copy to my sister!

A must read for all my girlfriends out there!!! The author is very relatable (is that a word?) and she writes with humor and she really tugs at your heart. A very witty story about family life and marriage with a Christian point of view. And for my single girlfriend(s) out there, still read this. It'll give you some life lessons too about relationship in general. The book will make you laugh and maybe even cry.

I can't wait for you to read this and you'll hear me say, "I told you so!"

Happy Reading!

Remember Me?

Author: Sophie Kinsella

Talk about a book I couldn't put down. I finished this in record time! Less than a week, and I have crazy busy schedule!! How long does it take you to read a book?

Anyway, this is about a girl, Lexi, who had amnesia and she had to paste together three years of her life! She woke up and was in awe that a Sunflower field was dedicated to her. Imagine that? Remember this, SUNFLOWER SEEDS <-- why didn't I think of that? Maybe it's not too late to start? Maybe we should all do that? Hurry and read this one....it will melt your heart.

While reading this my mind was racing and I was predicting what is about to happen next. I was trying to solve things. For this reason, the more I read faster, so I don't ruin it for me! You know what I mean? When you watch a film, there's so much lag time in between sometimes that by the time they show the conclusion, you've already figured it out. BUMMER! But when you read, you can avoid all that. So make sure when you do reach for this book, you have nothing else planned that will take you away from finishing it.

This book is very entertaining! As good as this book is, I felt that there were some questions that were left unanswered. I don't know, maybe I missed it. But I would have wanted to find out what happened when..... or what happened to....

Well, don't want to spoil it to you. So go check out my book store and get this book! You'll love it!

And remember come back when you're done so we can review it together.

Everything I Needed to Know About Being a Girl I Learned from Judy Blume

Edited by: Jennifer O'Connell

Remember Judy Blume? If you're an 80's girl, you know who I'm talking about. Where would I have been without her? She was one of my mentor! HAH!

Anyway, this book is written by several authors about their experiences as a grown women and how reading Judy Blume's books attributed to that and who they are today.

It was a nice travel through time read and sure brought back memories........................................................................................................................................................................................................Oops, I digress.

This book will make you feel quite nostalgic. Remember titles such as; "Are You There God? It's Me Margaret", "Smart Women", "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing", "Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great", "It's Not The End of the World", "Deenie", "Forever", "Wifey" and "Then Again, Maybe I Won't", "Blubber" and "Summer Sisters"? Did those ring any bells? Go read "Everything I Needed to Know About Being a Girl I Learned from Judy Blume" book and you'll know what I mean. And don't forget to come back and share your review with me.

The Hallelujah Diet

Author: George Malkmus

I was inspired to first buy this book to give to my ex-sister inlaw as a gift. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She's in remission right now. Thank God! The book is centered around eating foods in their most natural state so the body can absorb all the nutrients readily and effectively. The author believes that this is the best type of diet to help build healthy cells which is required when you have cancer cells growing in abundance. In addition, he also talks about juicing. Juicing is the best form of getting the nutrients into the cells rather than cooking which the heat can break down all the necessary byproducts. The book includes recipes of foods that he believes will help to recovery. By the way, this book is recommended for everyone; healthy or otherwise.

There were two books left on the shelf so I decided to buy one for myself. I love books about food. After reading this book, I was inspired to juice. I bought a Brevel machine. I love it. I lost ten pounds. Juicing is a lifestyle! You just have to adapt that attitude or it becomes a novelty.

I am by no means a Vegetarian. And my philosophy when it comes to food, or anything else for that matter? "Anything and everything in moderation". Life's too short, I like them all. And I will try anything once.

Happy Juicing! Let me know if you tried it!

The Infidelity Pact

Author: Carrie Karasyov & Jill Kargman

I know they always say to "never judge a book by its cover", but you know what? The cover is what attracts me to the book. This one had a very attractive cover. It was the hardbook version and it had a hot pink brassiere with black lace trimming hanging on a steel doorknob with a do not disturb sign like, but this one said (also written in hot pink), "The Infidelity Pact". I love pink and black combination, btw.

Anyway, I skim through the book and I came across a very steamy scene. It was very explicit. Well, I just had to find out what happens by that point....

Without spoiling anything more, it's about four high-society housewives with very basic duties but very demanding needs. All their husbands are busy making money to afford the lifestyle they want, mind you. But still!

OK, so once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down. It's not only provocative but it's also a who done it, sort of book.

Go read it and come back and post your comment and tell me what you think.

Secrets

Author: Jude Deveraux

Talk about CRUSH! Maaan, this one went through many decades....but did it survive? You just have to find out now, I guess. It was a very entertaining book, lots of maze and detour and I find myself trying to go back to follow. Lots of characters on the book so I was like, "who was that again?" Overall, like I said it's entertaining and a bit romantic in a cutesy sense.

Read some of the readers reviews at my Book Store.....it's hilarious.

I hope you join me in this adventure! Looking forward to hearing your own review of the book.

To Trust

Author: Carolyn Brown

I joined the Reading Club at our local library this week and this was the first book I read. I love the setting of the book. It was in Oklahoma, though I've never been there, the mention of cold lemonade and corn bread just made me feel of a very hospitable town. You have to read it to know what I mean.

Anyway this is a story of someone who just recently got divorced and is now trying to get back on her feet and she finds herself going back to her roots. Sound familiar anyone? And so, the story unfolds and we wonder what the heroine will do. Follow her heart or her mind? You take a guess!

After reading this book I craved for some warm corn bread and I got to talkin' with a Southern drawl. I done did it, didn't I?

I hope you read this one and again you come back now you hear and let me know what you think. You can find the book here!
